After failing to secure any win in their group matches, the Kenya Sevens Rugby team will now face Canada in tomorrow’s Bowl quarter finals.

The national side lost 19-12 against Wales in their final group D match. Coach Felix Ochieng made no changes in his team that played England earlier, but Kenya conceded first thanks to Luke Morgan unconverted try.

Kenya wasted no minute getting back in the game as Dan Sikuta touched down and Lavin Asego converted the resulting try to give Kenya a 7-5 lead at half time.

Shujaa maintained their momentum and Billy Odhiambo scored his 25th IRB series try as Kenya extended the lead to 12-5. However the joy was short lived as Wales leveled the game thanks to a try from Rhodri William and Thomas Williams’s conversion.

Wales were not done yet as they scored their third try courtesy of Morgan to take a 19-12 lead and the scores remained the same until the final whistle.

Shujaa’s performance in this tournament has been relatively below par and tomorrow they face another uphill task when they take Canada, a team they have met three times this season and lost in all the three occasions.
