CHIEF Justice Willy Mutunga is quoted in the media as saying that Kenya is a "bandit economy". According to the CJ, Kenyans are at the mercy of mafia-like cartels that propagate corruption like it was some sort of economic activity such as agriculture or hawking, including other vices like tribalism!

President Uhuru Kenyatta, during a recent visit to the land where Jesus was born, said that we (Kenyans) are notoriously known for our mastered crafts in "stealing, corruption and many other bad things". But, Kenya remains one of the best countries ever!

It's my assumption that a majority of us know who or what Morgan Heritage is. Recently, this Jamaican reggae band - born, raised and formerly based in America - said that they would apply for Kenyan citizenship. Reason? Kenya is a great nation! Since their last performance at Carnivore late last year, some members of this group are always being spotted hanging around in the city. Closer home, Tanzanian artistes among them AY, TMK's Chege, Hussein Machozi and Ali Kiba, are always in Nairobi, and Kenya in general. Sometimes performing, sometimes just "eating" life in the 'city in the sun'.

Last weekend, Congolese rhumba singer Koffi Olomide, performed in Nairobi. Word has it that the musician might stay in Nairobi a bit longer than expected. Maybe one more month hivi. Of course Kenya is loved.

Remember that 1990s story of how popular soukous singer Kanda Bongo Man was allegedly kicked out and banned from performing in Kenya by the then President Moi? Kanda used to visit Kenya and stay for such a prolonged time, becoming so popular that at one time, legendary Kikuyu musician Joseph Kamaru challenged him to a popularity contest at a concert. The event was sold-out. He was chased away a few days later, only to return in 2012 for the first time.
