Kenya Government Now Set To Clamp Down On Youtube And Netflix

No more netflix and chill?

The Communication Authority of Kenya has announced plans to regulate Youtube and Netflix over what they term as "unfair" competition.

“Over-the-top providers like Netflix are causing unfair competition to other broadcasters and do not pay taxes to the exchequer,” said CA Director General Mr Francis Wangusi.
And the list of qualms don't end there. The communications guys are also taking issue with lewd content (never mind the fact that Netflix has contingencies that allow you to protect children from access adult content).
These and more plans were revealed when one Mr Wangusi of the communications authority took a sojourn to Standard Group headquarters where he paid a courtesy visit to take stock of the progress of the digital migration process.
