Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth has finally rested after a brave battle with colorectal cancer which had spread to his liver leaving him in ICU.

The outspoken, charismatic politician had however shared the wishes he would have loved to see fulfilled one of them was not to be put on a life support machine.

According to his brother Imran, "Okoth specifically had said he doesn’t want to be on life support so an hour ago they decided to switch it off."

That however is not the only wish Okoth had before his demise.

Last year Okoth travelled to Europe for further treatment as he could not afford the expensive treatment in the USA.

His one wish at the time was for Kenya to make cancer care a priority.

“I COULD NOT AFFORD THE US BECAUSE IT WAS TOO EXPENSIVE.

MY WIFE IS FROM EUROPE, WHERE THE COST IS MORE AFFORDABLE AND I COULD GET A RESIDENCE PERMIT QUICKLY FOR THE DURATION OF THE TREATMENT.

SADLY, NOT EVERYONE IS AS LUCKY; WE NEED TO MAKE CANCER CARE IN KENYA A NATIONAL PRIORITY,” Ken said.
