Joseph Irungu aka Jowie is currently behind bars at the Kamiti Maximum Prison. Jowie, Maribe's ex, who is a prime suspect in the murder of slain businesswoman Monica Kimani was denied bail on October 30, by Justice James Wakiaga.
Judge James Wakiaga declined to release Irungu on bail saying he might abscond or interfere with witnesses given the reasons placed before the court by the prosecution.
He described Irungu as the male version of a slay queen and described him as a ‘woman eater’ with no fixed aboard and no known job.

Joe Muchiri, Jowie's best friend was present on the day he was denied bail and he continues to show support to him. He recently visited Jowie at the Kamiti present and said that it's one hell of a place on earth. He tweeted;
