Kambua’s 2019 has begun without much controversy, unlike last year when she was criticized for her treatment of a co-worker during a Citizen T.V event.
Although her year has been one of relative calm and peace for the attractive gospel singer, she still has a record she wants to set straight.
The record concerns her husband of 7 years, Jackson Mathu. The two have been the picture of marital bliss without nary a controversy emerging from the marriage.
And what did she want the public to get right? Her husband’s occupation. She told Salon magazine:
I fell in love with him because he knew what he wanted and went for it. Contrary to what many think, he is a businessman and not a pastor. He usually ministers at his brother’s church, Eagle’s Faith in Westlands. I am enjoying my marriage and I look forward to many happy years with him.
So ministering is more like a hobby for Jackson ama? Kambua also re-affirmed to the magazine how fulfilling her marriage had been so far. She said:
All I can say is that I married the right man. I fell in love with him because he knew what he wanted and he went for it. I am enjoying my marriage and I look forward to many happy years with him.
And how has she been able to keep the details of her marriage secret all these years? She values her privacy and has made it a purpose to keep it(the marriage) personal. She disclosed to the magazine:
I really wish to enjoy a private marriage, because the rest of my life is public. All I can say is that I married the right man.
Her decision to keep her marriage private is a nice contrast to that of DJ Mo and Size 8’s. The Muiruri’s as they are colloquially referred to, are n’t afraid to share deeply personal antidotes about their union.
This year, they have spoken about the miscarriage Size 8 suffered and have n’t been afraid to vouchsafe their personal feelings. Two different approaches to marriage but with similar results? You be the judge.
