The much anticipated Pope Francis 3 day tour in Kenya is finally here and Kenyans can't help but be amazed at how everything has worked out.

The pope landed in the country on Wed, Nov 25 at 5 pm where he was given a warm welcome by President Uhuru Kenyatta and the First Lady, Margaret Kenyatta at JKIA, and thereafter went to State House for an official welcome ceremony and courtesy call.

Well, now that the pope is here, we can all stop with the anxiety and get on with it. In regards to his visit, I thought about listing up some of the things the pope should do before he leaves so as to have the best Kenyan experience there is.

Here are 5 things Pope Francis should do to have a truly Kenyan experience.

1. Eat Chapati And Madondo

This is commonly referred to as the hustler's meal, where madondo stands for fried beans and Kenya's favorite wheat flour food, Chapati. Men prefer it because it's a heavy meal more suitable for those with a big appetite. The pope can try this out especially when he goes to Kangemi.

2. Visit Uhuru Park

This is where those who can't afford to go for family picnics at Zen Garden or Paradise Lost take their loved ones for good memories, chilling on the green grass and having photos taken while holding Dahlia flowers, with a thumbs up pose. It may not be the coolest hang out for young peeps, but the up country folks sure know how to have fun there. The pope should try it out now that we know he is down to earth.

3. Explore The Maasai Mara

This is the ultimate tourist attraction in the country, where Pope Francis can enjoy the spectacular view and get mesmerised by the different wild animals in the park, which include: Zebras, Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Gazelles and may even be lucky to experience the Wildebeest migration from Serengeti National Park.

4. Visit The National Museums Of Kenya

If the pope wants to experience true Kenyan heritage and learn about our culture, these destination will act as a collection point for everything that Kenya has to offer, right in the middle of Nairobi. At the National Museums of Kenya, you will get to see some of the best art and show of culture from various local tribes and artists. Visiting here is like taking a ‘crash-course’ on ‘Kenyan’!

5. Enjoy Nyama Choma At Njugunas

If you have never been to this budget joint in Westlands, oppostite ABC place, then you don't know what good nyamachoma is all about. The hotel has been there for a while, indeed, so popular is the food court that President Moi himself often dropped in for Nyama Choma. It's known to have the best meat delicacies, the African way. I bet the pope would love to have a bite of this tasty nyama choma.
