But one area many wanted to know about him, was how he behaved and acted while in school. Mr Irungu is the second-born in a family of two boys and two girls.

According to close friends who spoke to the Nation newspaper, Joe went to Racetrack Primary, before being transfered to Carol Primary where he sat for his KCPE in 2005:

He joined Carol Academy at Class Five. Teachers in school were surprised to see his photograph in the newspaper as a murder suspect.

The teacher also explained that Irungu:

He was one of the school’s best entertainers. How he changed his character and behaviour is still a mystery to most of the teachers who handled him.

The teachers could not also trace his whereabouts after he left the school in 2007. The teacher also explained that getting to know his character was hard as form ones are generally very cheeky it takes time to learn their true characters.

Now that he is the face of a horrible murder, many former teachers and those who knew him are shocked about the revelations coming out daily in the media.

Most of his friends who spoke to the Nation, remember him as a well-mannered person of good character. A member from Joe’s former bad said:

The last time I saw him in Nakuru was in 2015. Since then I have not heard of him.

So what happened to Joe cause all the records of him go against the character of what a cold-blooded killer should be?
