Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege has mourned Kikuyu Benga artiste John DeMathew who passed on on Sunday after his car was involved in a road accident.
Sabina Chege featured in one of  DeMathew's hit song titled Njata Yakwa (My Star) as a video vixen.

"I have seen you grow as a person and in the music industry. It’s with humility that we accept God’s will for he was still present and on his throne when the accident happened. Praying for your family, friends and your fans. Your music will remain in our hearts forever," she wrote on Facebook

Speaking exclusively with Mpasho.co.ke, Sabina who was an artist and acted in Tausi at KBC, says she joined university and later got employed as Kameme FM radio presenter.
That is where she met John DeMathew and produced for him the first-ever Kikuyu secular music video which she featured in.

"He was the greatest secular Kikuyu musician of our time, a great icon, a legend and Agikuyu prophet who gave direction to the community through his music. His legacy remains in the people’s hearts as he joins Joseph Kamaru, Makibi James and other great musicians as they join the heavenly Choir..."

Some of his DeMathew's hit songs include;

'Negereria Kane ‘give me alcohol’ John DeMathew talked about third-generation alcohol, warning that it was going to affect Central Kenya.

Mbeu Njithi and Arume Kwina Mbu, John DeMathew talked about the plight of the boychild.

BOYCHILD IS IN TROUBLE. HE IS EVERYTHING FROM THE BREADWINNER TO THE SUPPORTER YET HE IS THE ONE BEING FRUSTRATED.

He also prophesied that about the high rate of suicide among the youth.

Many suicide cases have been reported in recent years and the trend is worrying. Over the weekend, a man killed his wife and later committed suicide in Kitale.

He sang 'Muthuri aAikaire Thii' talking about John Michuki who prophesied that Uhuru will be the next president and this came to pass.
