Dj Joe Mfalme is among the top 5 Kenyan Djs and is also one of the most influential public figures in the local entertainment scene. He recently opened up about his struggle to stardom. He has truly come a long way.

"Couple of years ago when I used to open the DJ booth at Club Dimples in Meru to clean the machines and the booth before the main DJ came in to play, I couldn't have imagined that a time would come where I'm called for my own gigs," he said.

Mfalme now plays for top events in Kenya, from corporate to lifestyle, and tours across East Africa and around the world.

"I remember I used to clean before and after he plays meaning I could stay at the club from 2pm to 6am, sometimes with no pay...surely patience pays...always have hope no matter your situation...don't compete with others. Do your thing...set goals..achieve them. And set more goals...I'm made of hope...I'm Made Of Black...what are you made of?" he asked.

He is part of the Made Of Black campaign which is seeking to help Kenyans tell their stories boldly. Share your inspiring story and have a chance to rewarded big!

In the coming weeks, Guinness teams will be visiting clubs in Nakuru, Eldoret, Mombasa, Kisumu, Thika, Meru and Kisii counties, inviting bold individuals to share their Made of Black stories using #madeofblack254 via twitter (@guinnesske), on Instagram @GuinnessKE and The . The most inspiring submissions will get a chance to be part of a photo shoot with Guinness Brand Ambassadors, Genge artist Jua Cali, DJ Amar (The Arkitekt), DJ Joe Mfalme and Radio Presenter Adelle Onyango. The photos will then be used on billboards across Kenya.
