The internet is abuzz with news of the impending resignations of popular news anchors, Janet Mbugua and Hussein Mohammed. Apparently according to internet pundits, Jeff Koinange's entry into the Kilimani based media house, could be the reason why.

Royal Media is a house on faya! Someone ask Jeff Koinange to bring the fire extinguisher.

Anyhow, according to Kenya Today, top Citizen TV news anchors Hussein Mohamed and Janet Mbugu have already tendered their resignation letters and it’s still unclear where the two TV top anchors are heading to.

The site reports,

Hussein and Janet have resigned just days after Jeff Koinange joined the station and edged out some of them from prime time news. According to sources at Citizen TV Hussein and Janet had been given extra duties to do the morning Citizen Extra news which will run up to the end of the August 8 general elections.

The site added that after Jeff left KTN, he got a "mega deal" that amounts to an obscene amount of Sh 2 million a month. The contract is for two good years.

When RMS staff got wind of the leaked salary amount that Jeff Koinange is being paid, they lost it. How can they haso for years and still not get fair pay and someone just lands the amount, PAP! Just like that?

Here is what Janet Mbugua said the last time Mpasho called her for a comment on her rumoured move from Citizen TV.
