Monica Kimani’s murder probe has ensnared the high and mighty. From TV personality Jacque Maribe to her fiance Joe Irungu to their neighbour Brian Kassaine.
He seemed the most unlikely member of the trio to be involved in the murder as it seemed that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The reason for this was that Kassaine’s gun had been used by the prime suspect Jowie after he borrowed it.
Kasaine, 35, said Jowie had on September 11, borrowed his Ceska pistol for “training”, minus bullets. He is Maribe’s neighbour and a mutual friend to both.
Kassaine’s gun is said to have been used in Jowie’s shooting and later found in the ceiling of his house. He revealed that Jowie attempted to commit suicide by shooting himself with his gun.
Kassaine added that Jowie had gone to his house to seek paraffin so he could burn some clothes. Burnt clothing was found at Maribe’s home.
Now he has been released with closes to the investigation claiming that he will be used as a state witness against Maribe and Joe.
Sources also claim that he is to report to the DCI every Thursday without fail.
