Jacque Maribe and Joseph Irungu's were arraigned in court today in regards to the murder of Monica Kimani.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji said he has sanctioned murder charges against her and her man after reviewing the evidence gathered by detectives so far.

I AM SATISFIED THAT THERE EXISTS A PRIMA FACIE CASE TO WARRANT CRIMINAL PROSECUTION. I HAVE THEREFORE DIRECTED THAT THEY BE IMMEDIATELY ARRAIGNED BEFORE THE HIGH COURT AND CHARGED ACCORDINGLY.

The two have appeared at Millimani Law Court today and from the hearing, the lawyers want Jacque Maribe to be taken to Mathare for mental assessment and Jowie should seek immediate medical attention as they claim his hand is numb and paralyzed.

The judge has given a go-ahead for the medical assessments to be done to both Jacque and Jowie. The case will take a longer time as Kenyans wait for justice on the death of Monica Kimani.

The judge said that there cannot be a plea without the mental assessment which needs time. They will be in remand up until the plea will be heard on Monday after the mental assessment.
