A 27-year old man is recuperating at Isiolo County Referral Hospital after he cut off his private parts last week.

The county medical superintendent Dr. Hussein Abdi Mohamed confirming the incident said that the victim may stay at the facility longer for medical supervision and counseling as he has been under influence of drugs.

“Part of his male organ is missing and there is no possibility of adverse effects of the injury as the victim still has capacity to perform biological functions. He will be discharged only after the surgeons feel he is fit to go home,” Dr. Mohamed said.

The medical boss explained that no case of that nature had been reported at the facility before.

“Youth should not indulge in drug activities which can lead to mental illnesses resulting to committing of such abnormal act,” he said.

The victim, Abshiro Abdi hails from Bula-Pesa estate in Isiolo town and according to his mother her son was complaining of prolonged itching on his organ and upon taking him to hospital earlier, the problem continued.

The mother (who declined to be named) claimed that her son took a razor blade and immediately proceeded to his house pretending to cut his nails but ended up cut off tip of his sexual organ.
