Kenya Sevens Rugby team captain Andrew Amonde was having a disastrous evening on Saturday after he lost his sister. He later took to social media to mourn her by posting an emotional message along with her photo.

"Prayers and fond memories are what we have to remember our dearly departed. May the love of family and friends comfort you during these difficult days, our most heartfelt condolences. Rest in Eternal peace our sister Eva Amonde," he said.

After the tragic event, he would go to play a major game that would help the team to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic games. He scored a try despite the low moment. The team has now made it to the line up of the teams which will battle it out at the 2016 championships.

Brand Manager Stephen Musyoka (Syoks) shared a photo of Amonde in action with the following caption:

Even after his sister passed away on Saturday evening, @KenyaSevens Captain @andrewamonde still woke up on Sunday morning to lead the side to Olympic qualification.

Respect, my captain.

May the Almighty give you and your family strength during this trying time.
