Radio presenter and popular actor Inspekta Mwala was on Monday night involved in a freak accident that saw the loss of one life.

Inspekta Mwala hit and killed a pedestrian in Kaloleni, Kilifi County.

Kilifi police commander Patrick Okeri told media outlets that the actor knocked down a 35-year-old man killing him on the spot.

The pedestrian's body was taken to Coast General Hospital Mortuary in Mombasa.

Reports indicate that Mwala was driving from Kaloleni town on Mazeras Highway when he hit the man who was crossing the road.

He was arrested and is currently out on bail. However, the car he was driving at the time of the crash, a Toyota Axio, is being detained at Kaloleni Police Station.
