Protesters have blocked off a stretch of Moi Avenue close to Kencom in Nairobi's Central Business District.

They have strewn stones across the road, making it impossible for vehicles to pass through.

Police swiftly intervened and dispersed the protesters with tear gas.

The barricades remain in place.

Anti-riot police are now patrolling different streets in the city to maintain law and order.
