I know most of you don't know these celebrities or even if you do, you might not have known that they have Kenyan origin.

It's quite diverse since the list cuts across different professions, from the film industry to sports.

1.Linton Maina

The 21-year-old is born to a Kenyan father and German mother. He made his debut in the Hannover 96 on 18 March 2018 as he played as a substitute for one of the players.

Even though he was born in Berlin he has made sure that the country has been represented.

2. Malaika Firth

The 26-year-old is a Kenyan-born British model who became one of the first at her 20s to be booked by Prada advertising campaign.

She isn't afraid of expressing herself and stating that her home is Kenya. She has been doing great so far and has been making moves in the fashion industry.

3. Robert Kenyatta

Robert Kenyatta started out by playing on his mother’s oatmeal boxes and graduated to her pots and pans. Even  then he noticed that each pot had its own sound, its own voice. Mr. Kenyatta bought his first ’‘real‘’Conga Drum at age 12 with money he earned taking used bottles to the store.

When you have love for something you will go against all odds to have it.

4. Deep Roy

If you have watched Charlie and the chocolate family and movies like  Star wars i'm sure you know Roy. He was born  in Nairobi Kenya to indian parents.

He has been in over 20 films and has made appearances in up to 11 television shows. He started his acting career in 1976 and has been in the industry since then.

One of the first Kenyan actors to be in Hollywood.

5.Warsan Shire

She is a British writer, poet, editor and teacher, who was born to Somali parents in Kenya. In 2013 she was awarded the inaugural Brunel University African Poetry Prize, chosen from a shortlist of six candidates out of a total 655 entries.

She doing really great and once again the nation is proud of one of her own.
