A 14- seater plane crashed at Kofia Mbaya Marsabit County killing two people onboard.

The plane was owned by Tropical Air based in Nanyuki.

Locals claim who were trying to rescue the victims said there were mist/fog all over interfering with visibility.

The plane crashed at the same site where, a plane carrying legislators crashed some years ago.

Reports indicate that it crashed afew kilometers from governor's office on the outskirts of Marsabit town.

"A pilot and his co-pilot have died," Eastern regional police boss Noah Mwivanda has confirmed.

He said that crashed one hour ago and recovery operations are ongoing.

A police report confirms, "the aircraft had been hired by marsabit county staff who were to be flown to illeret within north horr sub-county for a peace meeting and nutrition smart survey chaired by the governor marsabit county."
