A video of Major (Rtd) Captain Daudi Kibati in a plane singing joyfully with his cabin crew and fellow pilots has gone viral.
The video shows them singing along to a popular Zilizopendwa tune together with the Safaricom choir.
The video was taken way before Captain Kibati made the heroic final flight from New York to Nairobi before the state was locked down.

Captain Kibati contracted the coronavirus from that trip that evacuated Kenyans from the embattled country.
The Captain was buried yesterday in an emotional ceremony in Kitui.
His family, wife Jane Mwende Kibati and children; Dr. Paul Kibati, Caeser Mutua, Sebastian Kibati and Angeline Mutindi, paid tribute to him.
They did not forget the sacrifice he made for his country.
In the eulogy book, the family detailed Captain Kibati's heroic last moments.
They wrote,
"The late Maj (rtd) Captain Daudi Kibati was someone whose patriotism was beyond
question from the days in the Kenya Airforce.
Adding,
"Therefore when duty called to fly to New York
to evacuate citizens of Kenya and other
countries arose, he did his duty with diligence
as always."
Captain Kibati's move was lauded by many including the CS of health who called it the "ultimate sacrifice" thanking him for flying to New York on Monday 13th March 2020 arriving in Nairobi on Tuesday 14th March aboard the Boeing 787 dreamliner.
The family said, "He was in good spirits as usual and following the government directives, he was
placed under quarantine at the Four Points
Sheraton Hotel together with his colleagues
and passengers."
They continued, "While in quarantine, he began to feel unwell which led him to be transferred to Nairobi Hospital on Sunday 29th April. He remained in the hospital receiving treatment until
Wednesday 1st April 2020 when he went to
meet his maker."
May Captain Kibati fly with the angels. Our deepest condolences to the family for their loss.
