Mariam Kighenda and her daughter Amanda Mutheu died after their car slid from the ferry and sunk in the Indian Ocean.
The two will be laid to rest tomorrow in Makueni County.
The bodies of the two are being preserved at Jocham mortuary. They were on their way back home from their farm in Kwale county when tragedy struck.
Mariam Kighenda’s best friend Hon. Sheila Karembo has been affected by her death and has been sharing updates on the burial arrangements.
In a tear-jerking post, Sheila revealed that she will ‘take up the role of a mother’ for Mariam’s son as they prepare to lay her to rest.
‘It hurts Mama Alvin, today i will be buying Alvin an outfit for your last wedding on earth,’ she wrote.
Mariam Kighenda and her husband John Wambua were blessed with two kids Alvin and Amanda.
