Karen Nyamu has defended Eric Omondi's reality show Wife Material that has been trending.

The former Nairobi women's rep aspirant says the comedian has been pushing the limits amid the extreme youth unemployment.

She took to social media to write;

"With extreme rates of youth unemployment in the country, creatives rely on talent, creativity, and intellectual assets as the main input to earn and create jobs for fellow artists.

Adding,

@ericomondi has been pushing the limits in the industry encouraging more young people to tap into their talent and make a living. So if you feel he pushed too hard with his 2nd episode of #wifematerial, arrests and prosecutions of artists in not a way regulating the film industry. The repercussions are far reaching and those we can not afford as a country"

On Thursday evening, a statement by The Kenya Film Classification Board, said that the comedian was arrested for distributing unauthorised films.

"Directorate of Criminal Investigations have this afternoon arrested one Eric Omondi for violating the provisions of the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya by producing and distributing unauthorised films dubbed Wife Material.” read part of the statemet
