Being in the limelight comes with its fair share of challenges for ex-TV anchor Catherine Kasavuli the first woman to broadcast in a privately owned station.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV in 2012 Kasavuli said,

"My son had been born in 1981 and was 2 days shy of celebrating his first birthday when I got a broadcasting job. I was still breastfeeding when I reported for my first job at Voice of Kenya. That is when I began to appreciate broadcasting."

Speaking about how she maintains her youthful looks Kasavuli said,

"A positive attitude, how you feel and what you feed yourself nutritionally and spiritually.

What you read or watch determine what you will be tomorrow."

Kasavuli who likes to keep her life away from the limelight was also a great fashionista during her days on the screens.

Unlike most of the current TV girls who dress in clothes leaving little to the imagination; showing off their cleavage and curvy bodies, Kasavuli always dressed decently.

However, she always made fashion headlines whenever she stepped out.

The mother of one has been busy working to maintain her brand. She is the CEO of Kasavuli media Group Company.
