Joan Wamaitha is now a celebrity. The little angel who stole the show at the airport during Obama's visit. Joan Wamaitha gave the US president a bouquet flowers on his arrival at the JKIA.

Joan Wamaitha is not an orphan as it was earlier reported. She is one of the many children taken care of by the Child Welfare Society of Kenya. The 8-year-old pupil at Mariakani Primary School in South C, is a happy girl ever since she met the world's president Barack Obama.

Yesterday, we had a chance to speak to Joan Wamaitha, and we were mesmerized by the little angel. She is such a bright, humble, calm and collective child. She would like to become a pilot when she grow up, Joan Wamaitha told Mpasho.

Joan Wamaitha who has been in the children's home since last year September, has been able to make a lot of friends as many of them like her so much. No one knew Joan would be on TV one day, they were surprised when they saw her at the airport despite the fact that she is a shy girl.

Being her first time to meet the president of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta and Barack Obama, Joan was very happy. She had never been to the airport before. Just like other kids, Joan is very playful and active. When asked about her favorite subjects and food; "Science is my favorite subject and that's why I want to become a pilot. And spaghetti is my favorite food," she said.

Joan Wamaitha has been making headlines since Obama's visit to Kenya and let's hope her dreams will come true with the help of the nation and her guardians. Below are photos of Joan Wamaitha and her pals during the exclusive interview with Mpasho.
