Married people who habitually remove their wedding rings have revealed the reasons why in anonymous online confessions. 

Husbands and wives around the world confessed to sometimes taking off their bands that symbolises their commitment to their spouse.

Many admitted to doing it in order to get attention from the opposite sex - and even indulge in a little flirting without their other half's knowledge.

Others went further still, with one woman revealing she regularly takes off her wedding ring - 'whenever I cheat on my husband'. 

A female bartender said removing her wedding ring at work was good for business, while another said she takes off her engagement ring as punishment whenever she fights with her fiancé.
