'I used to work in a cybercafe,' ex Real Househelps of Kawangware actress Chebet narrates

Esther Chebet popularly known as Matilda from Real Househelps of Kawangware (RHK) is a talented woman. She acted in the local dramedy RHK for three years before quitting in 2017.

She later joined Sue na Johnie which airs on Maisha Magic but quit in 2018.

She then ventured into comedy and always posts funny clips on her various social media accounts.

Talking about her journey in the acting industry, she said,

I used to work in a cybercafe and have always been an online person. I find it easy interacting online.

Chebet, who started acting at a tender age was discovered by a music and drama teacher from KMC back in 2010 when she was in form three.

I went for several auditions but was rejected every time I tried. There no audition I've 'won' either for feature, drama or film.

She also said that the industry isn't for the faint-hearted and hard work and perseverance is what helped her made this far.

I feel that I haven't exhausted my potential for the two roles I've played [in Real Househelps and Sue na Johnie]. I have so much potential and need to get more roles. I always feel I need to go for more auditions so as to get roles.

The actress-cum-comedy revealed that she is trolled more often and refers to trolls as 'confused fans'.

I've been bullied, body shamed. Most of them use pseudo accounts. I respond to trolls' comments and block afterward. Some of them I just ignore.
