I used to earn Ksh2,000 - Betty Kyallo reveals first salary

Media personality Betty Kyallo has revealed that she started business when she was still in school.

The former K24 TV presenter in a recent interview, said that she used to buy jewellery at a wholesale price and resell.

'My girls and I would go to Dubois Road and buy necklaces, earrings and stuff and then we would bring them back to school and sell them and make some profit margin. Kidogo tu,' she said.

The mother of one also disclosed that she used to run a landscaping business Blissful Gardens, which later collapsed.

'Blissful Gardens was just me and a guy who had a panga. It was just a team of two and it was so nice because we got jobs from around the community. I started doing jobs for our neighbours and then they introduced me to other people and churches. The business died because the guy left,' she explained.

Betty Kyallo now runs a successful beauty parlour, Flair by Betty, which is located in Kilimani area. Speaking about her first salary, she said,

My first salary was probably Ksh2,000. that time it was Alot of money because I didn't have expenses, no rent, you don't pay for anything...My internship job we were paid Ksh 5,000.
