Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero is one of the few Kenyan politicians who are married to beautiful women.

The city boss who is ready to secure his seat come next general election which is two weeks away, is a loving and caring husband. His wife Susan Mboya, the daughter of the late Tom Mboya has revealed so.

In an interview with Sde, Susan she had known Kidero for several years as a friend who used to give her career advice and in 2010 things changed. They met in South Africa few days after Susan lost her mother and they started strengthening their friendship ties.

"I had just lost my mother and it made me rethink my life in terms of what I wanted to do. He was one of the people I reached out to for advice. I will never forget what he told me. He said "You can either be a small fish in a big pond or you can come back home and do something big."

A few months later, the power couple met for their first date in South Africa and this is where Susan knew the type of man the Nairobi governor was.

"I saw a different side of him. People usually see him as very powerful, very business-like, but for the first time he was talking about his family and aspirations for his family," she told Sde.

She went ahead to reveal that Kidero is a romantic man and that's why she decided to settle down with him. They dated for a year and a half and tied the knot in 2011 in Nairobi at the All Saints Cathedral.

"He has quite a sensitive side and that's not what you expect. You expect this hard-nosed businessman. Sometimes he takes things to heart and sometimes too much. He is a very big person physically, so you never think that someone like him could just have hopes, fears and things that he is trying to do for his family. That really struck me, how much he was doing for so many different people," she said.

While other politicians are always involved in love triangles, Kidero is different. He is in love with one woman only.

Susan also said that Kidero is a down to earth man and at times, when she is tired, he serves her tea.

"He knows I love flowers so he did a lot of those and still does. He brings me flowers every Friday and has flowers for me when I come home from traveling. Sometimes when I am tired, he will serve me a cup of tea."
