Tanzanian singer Ray C who plunged into drug abuse in 2012, is trying to get back on track after sinking into oblivion. Many are happy for her, including East Africa's superstar Diamond Platnumz who recently penned down a message to the once upon a time queen of music encouraging her to work hard.

Ray C who was rescued from drug addiction by former president Jokaya Kikwete by taking her to a rehabilitation centre, has made shocking confessions about herself.

During an interview with one of Tanzania's leading publishers, Ray C revealed that at one point in her life, she felt worthless and even contemplated suicide more than 10 times.

"Suicidal ideation rang constantly in my mind. I think the instances where I thought of killing myself are more than ten. I had Lost hope in life. I looked back at my life and the dreams that I had - they were on point.

But there I was. driving my life into a ditch but I could not rescue myself from it. There was a time I felt my life was meaningless, worthless. I had no self-esteem at all," said Ray C

The sassy singer who recently released a new jam Unanimaliza is busy with media tour promoting her song and she is set to visit Kenya later this month.
