Former Inooro TV reporter Muthoni Mukiri has shared how she survived on milk and mandazis before she made it in life and joined the media industry.

Muthoni says at the time she had been ecstatic to start her own life but she was not ready for the challenges and responsibilities that come with such decisions.

Through her social media page, Muthoni shared,

'Almost 10 years ago I used to live in a bedsitter in  Roysambu after I moved out of home.

My gas/meko had ended and I had no cash to refill it.

I only had 25 shillings on me, I took the cash went bought milk and 2 mandazis and went back to the house.

When I went back to the house I cried so much after taking that food, I knew I could do better than that.

I had big dreams, so I told God that such a life was not my portion.'

Muthoni added,

I even thought of going back to live with my parents.

I however decided to stay and borrowed some cash to last me till end month.

I would borrow one person and pay the next person and the cycle continued until I started getting acting jobs.

I  also started getting called for interviews, before I landed on my media career.'

Muthoni shared her experience to encourage anyone going through a tough time to hold on as there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
