BBC presenter Anne Ngugi has emotionally encouraged those who lost their jobs at Media Max.

Anne who went through the same journey when she was working at K24, has recounted her journey on that fateful day that things turned and she was told that she would no longer be working at the station.

She was five months pregnant then and she says it was not easy as it was something she didn’t see coming, but she decided to move on to other things.

She says that she felt rejected as she thought she was the best and never expected to be retrenched.

Together with 73 others, they were sent home.

She took to social media and her emotional letter to them was;

"To my Colleagues at Mediamax who have tasted rejection at a time the world is fighting a pandemic and a company I believe you all loved to work has just said adieus ! I feel compelled to encourage you today as someone who went through where you are right now !I know the feeling of receiving the news that you are no longer needed ! I can almost smell the morning of 2014 end July, when around 73 of us were hurled in to one of the top hotels in Nairobi and pieces of papers which shouted redundancy were thrown at us!"

She added;

"Mind you I was 5months pregnant with Twins ! and here I was rejected ! I used to think am indispensable until that day ! Ladies and gentleman I can hear your anger and pain ! No matter how much you try to put a brave face , inside you are beaten you are down right now ! But you know what you can rise again ! I got depressed , I lost my self esteem and many friends just disappeared ! If I'm the one today who is working again after my Name was tarnished and was I the talk of town for a while then my story will be your story some days to come ! To some it will take months others years ! No matter what direction you plan to take remember this!"

She then asked them to feel free to call her incase they need an encouragement message.

"There is always a light at the end of the tunnel ! Remain hopeful : there is something good and useful after a long period of hardship and despair ! Am a phone call away Incase you need a voice of encouragement!

Among those who have lost their jobs at the station are Eric Njoka, Betty Kyallo, Jalang'o.
