Gospel artiste Evelyn Wanjiru has opened up about her tough past. The Mungu Mkuu hitmaker revealed that she was once paralyzed for one year after struggling to lose weight.

After about two years, her dad passed away. Her mum struggled to make the singer's life better. During her final year in high school, she starved for lack of food in school.

"After some few years, I lost my dad. My mum raised four children and she had to sell charcoal and choma maindi on the road to sustain us. She couldn't afford school fees for me. The teachers told me they would only give me an opportunity to be in school but you cannot eat in school. My friends used to share the food with me and sometimes I could go without."

Evelyn revealed this during an interview with Amina Abdi on The Trend.

Wanjiru is currently ruling the airwaves with the songs Jehovah Elohim. The single is way too inspirational and amazing.
