Wambui Kamiru, the widow of Bob Collymore has wished him a happy birthday.
The Safaricom CEO died on July 1, 2019, after a long battle with acute myeloid leukaemia cancer. He died aged 61.
While celebrating her husband’s 62nd birthday, Wambui penned a touching letter to him, which read,
Mr. C., I miss being your personal paparazzi for our failed selfies. 6 months, 13 days, 22hrs 20mins since I last saw you. Happy Birthday @bobcollymore I continue to love you.
Wambui has been sharing a series of posts on social media, reminiscing the moments spent with her late husband.
Even as I am heavy under this cloak of grief,
My wounded and torn heart still finds words of praise for God’s blessings.
Even as space rings with my lover’s distant voice,
My ears are filled with sounds from the living.
Rain beating the earth softly.
Leaves rustling,’ read one of her posts.
In another post, she wrote,
He asked me why I’m smiling.
“Because I am in pain.” And now I smile my biggest smile.
I am sweet joy and love
Wrapped in a thin foil of sadness.
