NTV news anchor Mark Masai revealed in a past interview that he once worked as a makanga. Masai hustled along the industrial area route together with his brother who was the Matatu's driver.

He told Capital that:

My first job i was a makanga, industrial area, Hillocks. I finished high school in 2002, so between that time and 2004, i did a bit of it because it was a business for our family, I was one of the conductors. It was before Michuki so we had a few conductors and my bro was the driver. So beba beba, industrial area Hillocks.

Adding that:

It wasn't fun but taught me good life lessons.

Masai is one of the most sought-after personalities in Kenya and in January 2015, he happily walked down the aisle with the love of his life.

In another interview, he addressed why he and his wife haven’t had children since he got married. The NTV news anchor says his manhood is still intact and working, so kids should be expected and that he is in no hurry.

We are not in any rush when it comes to babies, but I can assure you my soldiers are marching and as soon as the baby is here we shall let you know
