Kiss FM radio presenter Kamene Goro has talked about how she missed three scholarship chances to study in the UK.

According to Kamene, her dad preferred that she studies locally and gain local experience.

Speaking during an interview with Churchill, she said,

'I schooled at Rusinga school both for my primary and secondary levels.

After that, my dad suggested that I do law even though it was not my first choice.

I was a bright kid, hesabu ndiyo ilikua tu inanilemea.'

Kamene added,

'After choosing to do law I got three scholarships to go study in the UK but my dad turned them down.

He was like 'lazima uende UoN.; looking back I think that was the best decision I ever made.

'I was studying at the University of Nairobi, Parklands campus and the first day I went my dad gave me his Mercedes to drive.

So some people assumed mimi ni rich kid, I had to make friends by force.

Frankly speaking, if I did not go to the University of Nairobi I would still be very naive.

It's there that I made friends for a lifetime.

Despite studying law, Kamene Goro had a love for radio and she has managed to create a name for herself by being among the most followed radio personalities.
