Citizen TV journalist and on air personality, Jacque Maribe has penned a moving tribute to the pilot of the ill-fated chopper that crushed into Lake Nakuru over the weekend.

She who went to the mortuary to view Captain Apollo Malowa's body. Jacque says it was an emotional moment that left her "heartbroken."

She took to Instagram to pay tribute to Apollo. Jacque had flown many times with him during her news assignments around various counties.

"I really haven't known what to say. My heart is broken to pieces. I refused to believe you have gone until I saw you there, lying lifeless. I still don't believe I looked at you today and you lay motionless. I'm so shattered. What do you say, when a friend becomes family, and part of your daily fabric? What do you say, when we'd talk everyday, and laugh over our self made jokes? What really is there to say! You remain an incredibly amazing friend, a fantastic pilot, a part of our team. I don't think I'll come to terms with it anytime soon, but these tears will be both of the pain I feel and the laughter and light you brought. So fly high my dear, fly sky high. Tutaonana baadaye, safiri salama Captain. Always in our hearts," Jacque wrote.
