Former MCA Richard Muchesia shocked Kenyans after he killed his wife Laurine Okwach and turned the gun on himself at their Rongai home.

According to neighbors the late Richard and his wife had lived in Rongai for around 5 years.

They were a good family and the husband did not use to live here a lot I came to know him beginning of this year.

A neighbour who spoke on grounds of anonymity revealed that she received a call from Laurine's sister at the wee hours of the night.

I received the call because she has never called me that late, she told me that something was happening and she was not sure what it was.

She told me she was bothered given that her brother-in-law had a gun, she asked me to call the care taker.

Another caller narrates how he was woken up by gunshots

I had a second gunshot and heard the voice of a lady screaming, after that I heard the voice of a man and a third gunshot. After that everything went silent. The man was near the door and the woman near the sofa facing down.

Police are still trying to investigate whether the gun used by Richard had a licence or not.
