I have nothing to tell the court! Peter Mugure's accomplice says

Chief magistrate Lucy Mutai has allowed Major Peter Mugure and his accomplice Collins Pamba to be detained for 21 days in connection to the death of Joyce Syombua and her two children.

Joyce was killed alongside her kids Shanice and Prince Michael and their body dumped in a shallow grave in Nanyuki.

The prosecution had applied to detain them for 21 days to complete investigation.

The prosecution argued if released on bond Mugure might interfere with the investigation since he is a senior officer in the army.

Other suspects have not been arrested.

Defence lawyer Wanjohi Mwangi opposed the duration arguing the two are not yet formally charged.

Second, accused was not represented by a lawyer hence said he has nothing to tell the court.

The court granted the application for Peter Mugure to be detained at Nanyuki police station and the accomplice detained at Naromoru police station.

DNA samples were also taken from the deceased persons, Joyce Syombua, daughter Shanice and son Prince Micheal.
