Ruth Matete's father, Abel Amunga, yesterday made a moving speech about all the bad publicity his daughter got after the death of pastor Beloved John Apewajoye.

Kenyans on Twitter insinuated that Ruth was in a way involved in the death of her husband.

Beloved John succumbed to burn injuries on April 11. His body was detained at the Kenyatta National Hospital mortuary as investigations were ongoing.

The late was involved in a gas cylinder fire accident that saw him get over 60% body burns.

Investigations by DCI and enquiries by the Nigerian Embassy delayed the burial.

But on July 23, 2020, Ruth was given a go ahead to bury her husband.

The funeral service was at Langata Cemetery and the dad gave a moving speech of forgiveness.

He directed it to those who gave the family bad publicity or those who trolled Ruth on social media.

Amunga said, "Right here and now, I want to say, I forgive every person on social media and all other media platforms that conveyed very very negative news about my daughter and all the people that surround her I forgive all of you."

He added,

"Because if I don't forgive you we will not move on. I'm not doing this for you, I'm doing this for me and my daughter, so I forgive all of you."

Amunga continued his speech.

"Know that what goes around comes around this [death] is a merry go round so don't see yourself waking up in the morning and thinking you are secure as you practice your profession be very careful with it because God gave it to you he can take it away from you any time."

He concluded his speech saying, "I forgive all of you."
