A Kenyan man from Mnazi Moja, Mikindani, is still trying to overcome his shock after he lost his wife and two children in a fire hours after talking to them.

Alvin Otieno lost son, Alvin 5, wife, Lilian Chebet and last-born daughter.

Alvin had earlier spoken to his son who was curious when his dad would be coming home.

According to Alvin, neighbours rushed his wife and her daughter to the hospital after realizing that the family was stuck in the house.

Sadly the son was already dead. Chebet suffered severe burns of more than 75% which saw her succumb to her injuries.

Alvin narrated on his social media post.

My phone was charging in my father's house, it kept ringing for more than 18 times and I was about to ignore it but my cousin urged me to pick up.

According to him, the calls were too abnormal.

He added,

Upon receiving the phone I was informed that my son had died in the fire. I immediately dressed up and took the first bus to Mombasa, While in the bus I saw photos of my house on Facebook and condolence messages kept coming in.

Alvin added,

I then realized that I had lost more than my neighbours were letting me know. I saw my daughters dead body in ICU and next to her body was my wife. Although she was still breathing I knew she was no more.

In conclusion, Alvin said,

I didn't have any strength to cry.
