The hearing of the murder of Dutch billionaire Tob Cohen is ongoing. One of the prime suspects Peter Karanja has been arraigned in court to take plea for Cohen's murder.

The prosecution says his mental report confirms that he is fit to take plea.

Karanja has denied the charge of murder read out to him. It is alleged that on the night of July 19 and 20 with others not before court murdered Tob Cohen.

Prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki wants the court to consolidate Karanja and Sarah Wairimu's case.

She says the particulars of the offence are the same.

"We pray that the court to allow us to consolidate the matter. We are opposing his release on bail," Mwaniki told the court.

Karanja's defence team says they want to argue his bail application orally they don't have an application.

Justice Stella Mutuku orders them to file a formal application for bail. And appear on Thursday next week before Justice Daniel Ogembo for directions.

Karanja's lawyer, Ham Lagat says his client is still unwell and wants the court to order him to be seen by a specialist known as a Diabetologist saying, Kenyatta National Hospital doesn't have one. So they want him taken to Aga Khan

However, prosecution says Kenyatta has the best facilities to treat any ailment. Court directs that Karanja be escorted to the Diabetes clinic at KNH.

Sarah's lawyer Philip Murgor says they will oppose consolidation of the cases.
