"I Couldn't Look At Obama, Singemwangalia Macho," Sauti Sol Opens Up About The Moment That Changed Their Lives Direction

Two weekends ago, Sauti Sol performed for Obama at the State House. Their story went viral on the internet. They were mentioned by the likes of TIME, Vanity Fair, The Guardian, BuzzFeed and many other leading media houses.

To do a recap of the event, the group has released a video of them explaining how they were feeling when they were next to Obama.

Polycarp says that it was like a dream since everyone was taking photos and dancing to their music.

"I think we all had that feeling that this guy is excited now. By the time tunamaliza kuongea, nilirealize I'm here, na Obama ndio huyu hapa. I remember I couldn't look at Obama; singemwangalia macho, ningesahau lyrics" confessed Mudigi.

"When we started singing 'Sura Yako,' the entire place - everyone was excited. They're Kenyan you know. They relate with the music...I looked to my right, I saw the President; I looked to my left and saw Obama...I almost fainted," Bien reveals.

Chimano said that they've always strived to make sure they achieve their prospects as a team. They are working towards the release of their latest album, "Live And Die In Afrika."

This comes after they formally called out the Nation Media Group writer who berated them for not winning the BET and MTV MAMAs awards.
