'I can't sleep at night,' Akothee speaks after she collapsed on stage

Singer Akothee is recuperating after collapsing on stage this past weekend. The versatile artiste collapsed at around 1 am on Sunday morning while performing at the Luo Festival in Kisumu.

Her manager Nelly Oaks told Mpasho.co.ke on Sunday that,

SHE (Akothee) IS RESTING. IT WAS THE CONTINUOUS FATIGUE SINCE SHE JUST CHECKED OUT OF HOSPITAL LAST WEEK ON THE SAME.

The singer is hoping to be back on her feet soon and speaking to Mpasho on phone, she said,

I'm feeling better now.

Adding,

I can't just sleep at night. Even the sleeping pills are not working, I took two yesterday (Sunday) and was awake the whole night. My brain can't stop working and my body is tired.

Akothee has also made history as the first Kenyan artiste to be featured on an Italian international TV. Her feature was aired on the Confessione Reporter TV show, where she talked about her Akothee Foundation, which was formed to support the disadvantaged in Turkana.

In September this year, the mother of five performed at a beach party, which was attended by Italian tycoons and half of  the 1.8 million she was paid went to her charity.
