In December last year at the Parliament buildings, Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo went ham on President Uhuru Kenyatta, hurling all manner of insults at the Head of State!!

In the foul-mouthed rant, the vocal ODM legislator called the president among other names; "fisi" and "mshenzi" (hyena and stupid).

She later went to court to seek orders preventing her from being arrested for her ugly utterances.

Kandara parliamentary seat aspirant Philip Njuguna Waruthi also went to court seeking orders to compel the MP to issue an apology to the president and Kenyan people in a manner and terms approved by the court through mass media.

Well, the High Court has today declined to issue interim orders compelling the MP to apologize to the president and the people of  Kenya over the utterances.

Justice John Mativo instead said it was prudent for the parties involved to be given more time to respond and to hear them out.

"Accordingly I find that this is not a proper case to grant interim orders as sought," ruled the Judge.

The court also declined to stop Millie, her agents, servants or otherwise, restrained from uttering derogative words which demean President Uhuru.

Through lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui, Njuguna argued that the MP was bound to uphold, protect and defend the Constitution but she has not done so.

Justice Mativo asked the Attorney General and Millie Odhiambo to file and serve their responses and appear in Court on January 24th this year.
