People living with albinism face a lot of challenges with discrimination being the major one.

Albinism: an inherited genetic condition that reduces the amount of melanin pigment formed in the skin, hair and/or eyes. Albinism occurs in all racial and ethnic groups throughout the world. In the U.S., approximately one in 18,000 to 20,000 people has some type of albinism. In other parts of the world, the occurrence can be as high as one in 3,000. Most children with albinism are born to parents who have normal hair and eye color for their ethnic backgrounds.

A Facebook user has left many shedding tears after he narrated how his girlfriend dumped him. According to this man living with albinism, he asked his girlfriend if he could meet her family but she refused because he was an albino.

"I used to believe that we all have that special someone but not anymore these days. The last girl I dated when it got time to see her people she refused that she cannot because of obvious reasons.. of how I look so why would one believe someone praying for you. Where the world sees you as strange. No matter how hard you try to take care of yourself and look good," he wrote.
