Husband's are supposed to love their wives. but what happens when the husband loves the family cow more than the wife? Chaos ensues and not the good kind.

A  his 42-year-old woman inside their matrimonial home in Kirinyaga Central. He is said to have locked the body inside the house after the 4.30 PM incident on Saturday. The assailant’s mother said the couple had differed and had not been on talking terms for several weeks before the killing.

The straw that broke the camels back was when the victim allegedly deserted her home two weeks ago and left the family cow unattended. A source said:

"My son was not pleased when his wife left their home and went back to live with her parents. He was particularly infuriated by the fact that their cow had no one to feed it. I think this was the genesis of the unfortunate incident."

The assailant's mother recounted how her son and his wife had had a parents meeting where all seemed to be well earlier in the day. But things were not as they seemed. She said:

"About 10 minutes after they returned home, I heard loud screams from my son's house. I later saw a big crowd running towards the house, including many boda boda riders, only for me to learn that my son had killed his wife. Soon after, my son came and casually told me he was on his way to Kerugoya Police Station. It was as if nothing had happened."

Initial reports indicated the guard had also killed his three children. I believe the cow was a pretext for the man to commit the heinous crime. This case continues a troubling trend of domestic violence where husbands are killing their wive's with no regard for the consequences.
