'Hujambo Msikilizaji Na Karibu Kwa Yaliyotendeka', Kenyans Mourn The Late Waweru Mburu In Style

The sudden death of veteran journalist and Radio Citizen broadcaster Waweru Mburu came as a shock to many. Kenyans still can't believe he is dead. Mr Mburu died on Wednesday evening at the MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi after a long battle with gastric cancer.

Royal Media Services chairman Dr SK Macharia, vice-chair Mrs Gathoni Macharia and Group managing director Wachira Waruru condoled with the family terming Mburu’s death as a blow to Royal Media Services and the media industry.

Known for his signature greeting "Hujambo msikilizaji na karibu kwa yaliyotendeka.." Mburu always left us glued to the radio listening to him do what he loved most. Mburu was never afraid of criticising those in power and speaking his mind. He earned a huge fan base due to his prowess on air. But the question is, who is going to replace the fallen comrade Waweru Mburu?

Well, Mburu's fans took to social media to eulogise him describing him as the best journalist Kenya has ever produced as well as sending messages of condolences to his family. Here are just some of the messages, go through
