Drama ensued at Voi airstrip after Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko declined to board a police chopper that had come to airlift him to Nairobi.

He was later bundled in. Journalists covering the dramatic event were harassed by officers attached to DCI.

Mike Sonko has been arrested by the DCI sleuths hours after the Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji ordered for his arrest.

The governor is facing criminal charges alongside other 16 individuals named by Haji.

Haji said he had sufficient evidence to warrant the prosecution of Sonko as well as senior City Hall officials following a review of the investigation file handed to the DPP by the EACC.
