Sauti Sol’s lead vocalist Bien Aime Baraza wedded the love of his life, Chiki Onwukwe yesterday at a Lavington hotel.
The two celebrated their love by signing their marriage certificate and exchanging vows at the attorney general’s office on Friday.
They join other famous Kenyans like billionaire Manu Chandaria, who opted to solemnize their vows in a civil union.
The couple was given three hard copies of the marriage certificate for them and their witnesses to sign.
In a past interview with Mpasho.co.ke, Bien said,
“We will not have a white wedding because a white wedding was introduced by the white, and I am not going to follow that since its like colonisation. I will, therefore, have a traditional wedding.”
A close source told Mpasho that the wedding was attended by around 150- 200 people only.
“Nyashinski performed Mungu Pekee, Nazizi performed, Nameless, Sauti Sol also performed and the celebration looked beautiful.
Nobody was allowed to have phones in the venue as they wanted everyone to be part of the wedding and not to divert their minds by snapping videos on their gadgets.”
Bien proposed to Chiki last year at Westgate Mall in Nairobi, a private event as well.
He hired an entire cinema hall at the mall and made sure only a few friends witnessed the proposal.
