How Important Is Family To You? They Are My Life, Says Mike

When we are fueling our cars, using cooking gas to make meals, or lighting our homes, we never sit back to think where all these important product such as gas, or fuel came from.

We concentrate only on how they will solve our immediate problem. And in case it fails, we cause a storm. We want the instant gratification that fuel brings to moving the car forward. We yearn to push a warm meal down our throats without a second thought where the gas came from.

Well, this story is about where the fuel comes from. It is about the people who bring these fuels out of the depths of the earth, and into your home. The people who must face grave danger day in, day out.

But then again, we ask, are these real people? Do they live here on earth or they reside elsewhere? Yes! They are real. They give their lives day and night to let you live comfortably.

Take Mike for example, this man whose child can write a long composition about her father's career. She is really your everyday kid, adores her daddy and wants him to be home everyday.

But dad must be away for long days. He must go sail the deep sea, looking for a precious find; oil. You can bet this little girl must brace herself for the loneliness that she and her mom must endure while dad is in the high seas but she is sure he will come back sometime.

While away, Mike and his wife Felicia are constantly in touch through Skype, talking laughing...you name it. Their romance is alive and touching.

But Mike is about to face a life-changing work place experience on this particular day. To know whether he gets out alive or not, you will just need to get to see the movie to find out.

What I won't forget is what he kept telling his colleagues as they flee for dear life. His determination to get out alive is urgent and he desperately wants to go back to his wife and daughter. And for that, he fights like a wounded lion.

Now, I won't narrate the whole story to you, because it is actually based on a real life event that caused a historic environmental mistake. Get out, watch Deep Water Horizon and appreciate the little pleasures that make life worthwhile!
